The process of formation and training of young actors, as well as the continuous improvement of experienced actors requires extensive knowledge of applied psychology. That the actor must be a fine psychologist is almost a commonplace, but how his training process should unfold in order for him to assimilate the necessary understanding of psychic process in a coherent and appropriate way remains to be studied. In the doctoral thesis „Performative Alternatives of Shakespearean Characters Born of Their Emotional Universe” we proposed a didactic model of analysis using psychological theories, methods and tools that investigate the personality and its dimensions, as well as drawing credible and coherent lines of character evolution. This type of approach is complementary to the traditional one, responding to Stanislavski’s urge to create new methods and to break traditions in both the training process and the interpretation process.
