Abstract

Miroslava Salcido`s book review offers a practical expansion of the scientific concept of the laboratory, redefining it as a space of regeneration from which to take a political and artistic stance in relation to our own time. Through an exploration of the subversive movements within contemporary artistic practices, Ortíz discusses the co-laboratory as an operation that fosters a relational ethic forged within a shared artistic practice that explores, questions, transmits, and inaugurates a new tradition. Thus, the relationship between laboratory and co-laboratory in this book refers to the scene produced by those research-creation processes that seek and lay the groundwork for the evolution of social relations and the overcoming of paradigms.
