Abstract

Existentialist thought and philosophy are a primary source in the theatre of idea. The so-called ´´theatre à thèse" is part of a theatrical movement that was born in the mid-nineteenth century and this will have repercussions throughout the twentieth century, remaining an essential concept in order to understand auteur theatre. This literary trend would unleash a new conception in the way of writing a dramaturgy that will become watershed as it will give a very deep meaning to the artistic expressions that during the 20th century will give place to the expressive aspects that would renew contemporary art to our days. Nowadays the transversality between art, science, and technology constantly renews languages. “Thought and philosophy” are the basis for generating through and expression as a constant awareness of analysis and reflection that presents contemporary humans with a confrontation not only with his being but with the same social system and his own human identity that he constantly requires. This results in a hybrid form between arts and thought that question across the catharsis, not to merely find answers, but to identify elements that allow us to cope with what it means to be a human being that struggles to understand its existence and identity.
