This article reviews the cultural value of intertextual content in Alejo ́s Carpentier Concierto barroco. It examines the work of Carpentier issuing the importance universal of the theory of the Neo-Baroque and its relation with the consolidation of South America ́s identity. This text works as an invitation to follow up the richness in erudition within the work of Carpentier.
