About the Journal
CONCEPT is a biannual open access academic publication published by the UNATC Press Publishing House of the I.L. Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest (UNATC) since 2010. The journal publishes the same content in print and in online, with no differences between the two formats.
CONCEPT uses a double-blind peer-review system, is classified C by the Romanian National Council for Scientific Research, and is indexed in several international databases: CEEOL, SCIPIO, EBSCO.
Aim & Scope
CONCEPT aims to offer eminent and experienced scholars and emerging researchers the space to share knowledge and research through open access in the fields of Theatre and Performing Arts and Film and Media. CONCEPT welcomes both theoretical, practical, and empirical paper submissions covering an array of areas such as Acting, Theatre Directing, Puppets & Marionettes, Choreography, Scenography, Theatre Studies, Cultural Management, Drama Pedagogy, but also Cinematography, Photography, Mulimedia, Sound Editing, Animation, Audiovisual Communication, Film Studies, Film Pedagogy, Interactive Technologies, and many more.
CONCEPT welcomes manuscripts in English, French, and Spanish in the following categories:
Research articles - provide new information based on original research. The acceptance of research articles is typically based on the originality and importance of the research. The main text of a Research Article should be structured with subheadings, including Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion and Recommendations.The section includes at least one thematic dossier, followed by other chapters dedicated to research specific to the fields of interest.
Book Review - the journal welcomes reviews of contemporary and noteworthy books within the journal's scope, provided that they have been reviewed by an external expert on the relevant topic. These reviews should provide a critical evaluation of the book, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses, as well as its relevance to the journal's readership.
Interview or Colloquia - is dedicated to debates with documentary value or interviews with relevant personalities of the field, emphasizing the didactic side and pedagogy of their activity.

CONCEPT is available to readers online without financial, legal or technical restrictions, based on the manuscript content integrity maintenance principle. Except otherwise noted, the content of the journal uses a Creative Commons 4.0 CC BY license for the manuscript usage rights, which permits any use, reproduction, distribution, print, and citation of the work as long as the authors are credited. The complete bibliographical data of the original publication in the CONCEPT journal must also be indicated.
As a Fully Open Access journal, CONCEPT does not charge readers or their institutions for access (read, download, copy, distribute, print). CONCEPT does not charge authors any kind of publication fees or article processing charges.
