Dear collaborators,
The editorial board of CONCEPT magazine and the Master's Degree in Theater Research of the Rodolfo Usigli National Center for Research, Documentation and Information (CITRU), of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) of Mexico, invite you to submit research works, such as original articles, scientific essays, interviews, and editorial reviews for the dossier Theatre and Memory, in the following fields of study:
- Theatre in History, which seeks historiographical papers that contribute to the field of the history of theatre and of the concepts and practices relative to it on the basis of new discoveries and perspectives, but also those that take on theatre, on its practices and concepts, as an engine of history.
- History in Theatre, which convenes to review the role that historical facts play in the frame of theatrical arts, as much in what relates to productive modes as in that related to the modes of representation.
- Theatre and Testimony, where the case is to study the role of theatre as a presential witness of the historical fact, which is to say as a live mirror for social and communitary becoming and as a generator of identities and collective memories.
- Theatre and Document, where the invitation is to approach the bound between theatre and the documentation that accounts for it, a frame in which information sciences, with the archival on top, encounter an ephemeral art whose memory does not allow to be documented but from the outside, always safeguarding its true integrity.
Estimados colaboradores,
El consejo editorial de la revista CONCEPT y la Maestría en Investigación Teatral del Centro Nacional de Investigación, Documentación e Información Rodolfo Usigli (CITRU), del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) de México, invitan a presentar trabajos de investigación, tales como artículos originales, ensayos científicos, entrevistas y reseñas editoriales, para el dossier Teatro y memoria, en los siguientes campos de estudio:
- El teatro en la historia, donde se da cabida a trabajos historiográficos que, a partir de nuevos descubrimientos y perspectivas, contribuyan al campo de la historia del teatro y de los conceptos y prácticas a él relativos, pero también a aquéllos que se ocupen del teatro, de sus prácticas y conceptos, en tanto que motor de la historia.
- La historia en el teatro, donde se convoca a revisar el papel que juegan los hechos históricos en el marco del arte teatral, tanto por lo que hace a los modos de producción como por lo que toca a los modos de representación.
- Teatro y testimonio, en cuyo caso se trata de estudiar el rol que desempeña el teatro como testigo presencial del hecho histórico, como reflejo vivo del acontecer comunitario y social y como generador de identidades y memorias colectivas.
- Teatro y documento, mismo que invita a abordar el vínculo que media entre el teatro y la documentación que da cuenta de él, un horizonte en el que las ciencias de la información, con la archivística a la cabeza, se topan con un arte efímero cuya memoria sólo permite que se la documente desde fuera, salvaguardando siempre su verdadera integridad.

CONCEPT academic journal also publishes reviews of theatre and cinema books (1500-2000 words) and interviews with personalities from the related fields of Theater and Performing arts, Cinema and Media, some of them established, others on the rise.
We attach the latest issue of our magazine, eloquent for the categories of articles detailed above.
We accept articles that have not been published in other scientific journals.
CONCEPT is a biannual open access academic publication, edited by the I.L. Caragiale National University of Theater and Cinematography, which has been published since 2010. CONCEPT uses a double-blind peer-review system, is classified C by the Romanian National Council for Scientific Research, and is indexed in several international databases: ERIH PLUS, CEEOL, SCIPIO, EBSCO.
