Born in 1976 in Timisoara, Romania, Filip Odangiu is one of the promoters of a new approach in the propaedeutics of acting. He has a PhD in performing arts, with a thesis dedicated to the actor’s education. Among his publications are two reference books in the field of theatrical practice: The Intelligent Body. Metacognitive Strategies in Actor Training and Praxis. The strategic exercise (both published in 2013 at Casa Cărții de Știință, Cluj-Napoca). He currently serves as a professor and coordinates an acting class at the Faculty of Theatre and Television at the Babes-Bolyai University and also collaborates with the Cluj- Napoca National Theatre. Among Mr. Odangiu’s most notable performances and directorial works, we can mention “Tzara Arde și dada se piaptănă” (2016), directed by Ştefana Pop-Curşeu, “Succubus” (2019), screenplay by F. Odangiu after the fantastic prose of I.L. Caragiale, directed by F. Odangiu and Sinkó Ferenc, as well as Zero Grade cu soare (2024), directed and written by Filip Odangiu, produced by “Centrul de Creație MAIDAN” (which he founded in 2020).
